DIY- Lavender & Fresh Lemon Foot Soak Recipe For Stress-Relief & Detox.

Updated: Nov 15, 2020

Is it important to put your best foot forward right? To do that, let’s give our feet some love.

Our feet are the workhorses of our bodies, but we give them so little respect. It's easy to take our feet for granted. They're just there, putting up with a host of challenges, from being jammed into high heels and elevated to unnatural heights to smothering inside sweaty socks or tight nylon pantyhose.

Foot soaks for me are mini pamper-me-spa moments that can easily fit into the busiest schedule. And man do they work to relieve stress and tension, just letting the day fade away. Simply soak your feet and enjoy. Feel your back and shoulders relaxing in the process as well.

The combination of warm water, essential oil, Epsom Salt and fresh lemon squeeze does magic to your body. Working together to draw out aches, pains, and draw out toxins. But the main focus is the lavender Essential oil. This foot soak wouldn't be the same without the awesome therapeutic effects of lavender. Adding essential oil to a foot soak is a powerful way to benefit your whole body. It's a well-known fact that essential oils are easily absorbed through the feet. That's because your feet have larger pores. And the neat thing about putting essential oil on your feet is that you can affect specific parts of your body from that one location. That's because there are all these reflex points in your feet, pathways that can target specific areas of concern in your body with the beneficial effects of any given oil.

Recipe:

Twenty drops of lavender essential oil. I'm using our 100% Pure Natural Essential Lavender Undiluted Oil.

1 cup Epsom salt.

1/2 of fresh lemon.

1 1/2 cups sea salt- (dead sea salt is preferred).

1 1/2 cups baking soda.

I want to add that I am not a doctor. If you are under medical care, pregnant, or have any health problems, you may want to talk to your doctor before using natural skincare products. Skincare products may cause allergic reactions, talk to your doctor and know your allergies.

What to do:

1. Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

2. Once everything is mixed, add the drops of essential oil and stir them in.

3. Store your foot soak powder in pint or an air-tight container.

4. Add fresh lemon squeeze before use.

To use, simply fill a basin with hottish-warm water, enough to cover to your ankles. Sprinkle in a 1/2 cup of your homemade foot soak powder, stirring to dissolve. Then take your feet for a relaxing dip for about 15 minutes. Don't forget to breathe and enjoy the fresh, relaxing scents while you sit. You'll be amazed at how the stress and tension melt away!
